Seven Sisters Waterfalls

Since the first day back at school after Easter Holiday was a half-day, we decided to take advantage of the free afternoon and do a little hiking.  Our destination was Seven Sisters waterfalls, otherwise known as the St. Margaret Falls in St. Andrews Parish.  After waiting a long time at the bus terminal in St. George (we finally realized you must push your way onto the bus if you ever want to get on), we reached the place where you begin hiking back to the falls.

This is the sixth and seventh falls

Even though it's supposed to be dry season, parts of the path were rather muddy.  But we reached without too many mishaps.  When we got there, we were more than ready to hop into the cold water.  It was nice to swim in freshwater again.  I was seriously contemplating jumping off this 35 foot waterfall.  But I didn't since there was no Grenadian guide there and we weren't exactly sure how deep the water was or where the best place to jump was.

Seven Sisters is called that because it is a series of seven waterfalls.  The only way to see all of them is to hike through them.  We decided to hike to the top of the tallest waterfall (see the above picture) to see what it looked like from the top.  It was a somewhat precarious climb, but we made it!  From there we decided to hike back up through all the waterfalls to reach the first one.  And we made it!  We were rather proud of ourselves! :)  Although all of the waterfalls were smaller than this one, it was still quite the climb.  Once we reached the top waterfall, there was a sort-of path (albeit muddy) to come back down to the bottom falls.  I'm hoping the next time I go to these waterfalls, it will be to jump off of one!
